8/26/2016 (Permalink)

  1. Remove excess water the best you can using a mop or towel.
  2. Remove or prop up furniture from wet floors and wipe off moisture from the legs.
  3. Remove any clutter that might be on the affected wet floors.
  4. Remove art objects to a safe, dry place.
  5. Do not use a normal vacuum to remove water.
  6. Do not use appliances or electrical outlets where water could have affected their internal components.
  7. Do not leave wet fabrics in place. Hang furs and leather goods.
  8. Do not leave wet magazines, books, or other colored materials on the floor to avoid stains.
  9. Do not turn on ceiling fixtures if ceiling is wet, and keep out of rooms where ceilings are sagging.
